There's no other place you'd rather be on St. Paddy's day than in the green, sweaty crowd at Tempe Beach Park. For ten years now Flogging Molly has relentlessly returned to Tempe on March 17th to enrapture the inebriated college town with Drunken Lullabies.
Perhaps the most notable aspect of Flogging Molly's performance is the immense reciprocation of energy between front man Dave King and his audience. At age 52 King maintains an astounding, captivating stage presence. His wild movement, powerful speaking, and humor makes the concert not just a live music show, but an enthralling experience. Finishing their first song King gives a cheers to his audience "To our wives and girlfriends, may they never meet! Unless they're into that sort of thing". From the front to the back of the crowd everyone present is elated. Those not fixated on the show are either Irish dancing or pushing frantically through the mosh pit. The annual show is surely a must see for anyone who loves live music, vigorous crowds, and Guinness Beer.
